Like the OP, I am still searching for an app or program that can to what PlanPlus does, that doesn't crash randomly.Designed for those people who’re looking for a full-featured app to manage daily life better. My hunch is this happens because the program was written for XP and is 32-bit only. PlanPlus works for me, barely, in Win 10 on my SP3 and S3, but is subject to random crashes after 10 minutes or so, which means I lose the last data I was entering into the program when it crashed. That's why, for me, a template-based answer doesn't work. Even if you were to use a weekly planner template, you'd have a 50 page Section for a whole year - and that wouldn't help you view monthly, yearly, or Contact Info, for example. If you were to create a planner template, and then use it to record daily activity, just for business days, I don't see how you wouldn't have a Section in OneNote with 220-odd pages in it for every year (the approximate number of business days in a calendar year). While the suggestions here concerning using templates are helpful in the short term, those aren't really viable if you use a Planner on a daily basis, and for years at a time. To date, and even with the comments here, my best solution is a Win32 program I still use on my Surface: PlanPlus for Windows, by Franklin Covey. With that said though, the DayTimer's "content storage" abilities: recording and retrieval of calendar events, contact names and call history, ability to record daily notes, etc., AND, the ability to quickly return to a specific item once recorded (ie, search), are the reasons I enjoyed using it. The only time I didn't like it was at the end of the year, when I had to buy a new year's worth of the calendar.

As background, I used to use a physical DayTimer years ago and found it very helpful in keeping me on schedule. I've had the same question since before I got my Surface and have done a lot of searching.
